About the Artist

I have worked as a plein air and studio artist, and decorative painter since earning my BFA from UCSB in 1989. In addition to painting landscapes and still life paintings, I paint murals, wall finishes, furniture, as well as gilding projects, and Venetian plaster. I am currently accepting commissions for decorative painting in homes or businesses as well as for painted canvases. 

I am inspired by the energy and ever changing light of natural open spaces in coastal California. Living between the ocean and mountains of Santa Barbara, CA, I paint the land and sea. Painting outdoors allows me to connect with nature and challenges me to capture beauty and light on canvas. I enjoy continuing to work on my paintings in my studio, as it allows me to develop my plein air work without the challenging conditions of working outdoors.
